Corona, CA (July 9, 2018) – When the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, rolls into Glen Helen Raceway on September 21st and 22nd for Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2018 championship, fans will have an all-new way to enjoy their time at the track: The Lucas Oil Camp Out.
Title sponsored by Southern California RV mogul Mike Thompson's RV Super Stores, the Lucas Oil Camp Out will allow fans to bring their own RVs, toy haulers, and campers to a special area of the Glen Helen facility, and join with fellow camping and off-road enthusiasts for a summer camp out themed weekend of fun. "We love the idea of this all-inclusive camp out, that during all the time you're camping with us, you're covered with food and entertainment," says event organizer Debbie Kendrick of Lucas Oil.
In addition to the excitement of two nights of racing under the lights at the legendary Glen Helen track, participants in the Camp Out will have full access to myriad activities, many of which will be found under a giant, 6,000 square foot, air conditioned tent, which will serve as the hub of the Camp Out. The ground in and around the tent will be covered in AGL artificial grass, and Honda Generators will be sponsoring all of the lighting around your camping area.
Inside the tent, there will be meals served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During the day, there will always be something happening in the camp out area, with activities for individuals and families alike, including games and contests, live music, breakfast bingo and more! As the evenings set in, there will be live music and dancing, outdoor movies, off road racing, and a very special stargazing party hosted by Meade Instruments. "We want to keep it lively with a camp out vibe," Kendrick says.
Of course the biggest highlight of the weekend will be the racing itself, and as the closing night of racing during the Glen Helen weekend this year, Saturday night's Round 10 of the 2018 championship will be the prime night to be out in the stands taking in a night of action on this epic track. Serving as the penultimate round of this year's title race, Saturday night will set up the final showdown for the championship out in Arizona, and that means that every driver will be putting his or her best foot hard down in an effort to place themselves as well as possible by the end of the Glen Helen weekend. Simply put: there will be a lot for our drivers to push for, and these will be races that you just won't want to miss!
"We love pairing with Mike Thompson RV, and they love pairing with us," Kendrick says, and Mark Rosenbaum, General Manager of Mike Thompson RV, echoes her sentiments. "Mike Thompson RV is very happy about partnering with Lucas Oil for the Camp Out Series," Rosenbaum says. "Our customers love getting out and trying new things with the RVs. They are adventurous, fun loving people seeking new exciting experiences. Our customers camping out at a Lucas Oil Off Road event- now that's exciting!"
Only those participating in the Camp Out will have access to the Camp Out's activities, and space will be limited, so be sure to reserve your spot today before they're sold out. Registration to the Campout includes two Campout General Admission Tickets, two tickets to the Friday or Saturday night Off Road races, as well as all of the activities within the Campout itself. And don't forget: there are many more exciting features that are still in the works, but which cannot yet be revealed to the public. For more information, please visit LucasOilCampOut.com.
