Keaton Swane spent September in much the same way he spends every month. One weekend he was in Las Vegas competing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO. Another weekend he was in Blythe, California, for a race in the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by LoanMart. The remainder of the time he was working on the race cars and beginning his senior year at Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona.
"I'd really like to make a career out of driving Pro Buggy or moving up next year," said Mason, who is third in the Pro Buggy standings with three points races remaining in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO. "I think that's definitely possible. I just need to do as well as I possibly can and attract the big sponsors.
John Fitzgerald is flying high these days, although not necessarily by choice.
Fitzgerald, who this year moved up to the Pro Buggy division of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series after winning the 2012 Limited Buggy championship, used to drive from his home in Omaha, Nebraska, to the series' West Coast venues. But last year, because of the continuing high price of gasoline, he started commuting by air.
