Compton, California (September 13, 2017) – Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts return home to battle on the tight confines of Glen Helen Raceway as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing makes its first and only Southern California appearance this weekend, September 15-16. The Friday and Saturday night doubleheader showcases short course off road racing under the lights as fans will be treated to the snarl of Adler and the elite class of 900-HP Pro4's in the season's penultimate event. As President and CEO of the Nation's largest off-road parts and accessories giant, 4 Wheel Parts, the weekend represents an opportunity to race with the support of a large contingent of family, friends and his coworkers who are expected to be among the thousands of spectators in attendance.
While the season has been a combination of highlights and disappointments, the Manhattan Beach, California based Adler is hoping for a strong showing in front of his hometown crowd.
"We've been on the road racing all season long and it's great to be at Glen Helen with the local support," said Adler. "We've certainly had our share of challenges this year and to the team's credit, we've been fast and we've been consistent but in this kind of racing, you have to have luck as well. Glen Helen is the tightest, most technical track we race on and so you have to be aggressive but at the same time choose your battles. We've been racing this track a long time and had some success here so we know what it's going to take to get on the podium. Now we just have to go out and execute."
Although the results haven't accurately been a reflection of the team's consistent lap times while mixing it up at the font of the pack throughout the season, Glen Helen represents an opportunity to work towards a strong finish to the season with just three rounds of championship points racing remain.
The added dimension of racing under the night lights, while exciting for the fans under the cool air of the San Bernardino foothills, poses unique on-track challenges.
"It's always a bit of a transition to go night racing but with so many races here under the lights, it's something we prepare for. We battled some overheating issues in Reno, so afterwards we got the motor to our engine builder to make sure that we were dialed-in and ready for this weekend. The truck has been working great and with the fresh bullet under the hood, we're going to be ready."
Including San Bernardino's event, just two weekends remain on the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Schedule. Once the checkered flag drops on the weekend, the series returns to Chandler, AZ. in October for the season finale and the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup.
If you won't be in Southern California this weekend to catch the action live, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is broadcasted on CBS, CBS Sports Network, MavTV and LucasOilRacing.TV.
