Corona, California (March 1, 2018) – The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series prepares for another exciting, jaw-dropping race season as it heads to legendary Glen Helen Raceway on March 17 for the 2018 season opener. The race week will kick off in a special way with a visit to both the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House and MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach on Wednesday, March 14th. Series drivers will have their vehicles on display and will also visit with some of those currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House, as well as some of the patients currently being treated at the hospital. The visit to the Ronald McDonald House will run from 11:30am-1:00pm, with a lunch there as well, followed by the hospital visit, which will start at 2:00pm.
Drivers confirmed for the visit are multi-time winner and Pro-4 driver Bradley Morris, Pro-Lite competitor and 2017 Rookie of the Year Christopher Polvoorde, and Pro-Lite/Pro-Buggy driver Mason Cullen, whose family is a valued supporter of the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. Greg Cozzo from Lucas Oil Racing TV will also be on hand, bringing those big red cowboy hats for the kids (and the kids at heart).
A wide variety of gifts have been provided for those at the hospital, thanks to the generous support of series partners like K & N Filters, Super Clean, and more.
"Our drivers, teams and their families never forget how fortunate they are. Our series is as much about family as it is about racing. We are blessed to get the opportunity to visit the Ronald McDonald House, as well as those in their own 'battle' or 'race' at Miller Children's & Women's. We are hoping we can bring some encouragement, and some smiles," Cozzo says.
The series, airing on tv networks like CBS, CBS Sports, and MAVTV Motorsports Network, has a complete array of Hi-Res images and B-Roll for our media partners in attendance. Those attending, or needing access to media, please contact Christin Patison at firstname.lastname@example.org.
MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach, part of OC-based MemorialCare, provides specialized pediatric care for children and young adults, with conditions ranging from common to complex - as well as maternity care for expectant mothers - all under one roof. Only five percent of all hospitals are children's hospitals, making them unique not only to children's health care needs in the community, but across the region. Miller Children's & Women's is one of only eight free-standing children's hospitals in California - treating more than 14,000 children each year - and has become a regional pediatric destination for more than 84,000 children, who need specialized care in the outpatient specialty and satellite centers. Since opening its doors in 2011, the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House has provided comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. With 23 guest rooms, the House served nearly 700 families in 2017, and its volunteers put forth over 13,000 hours of service in support of their mission to keep families close to each other and the care they need.
