Geoffrey Cooley’s driving and the desert temperatures got much hotter in rounds 5 and 6 of the Lucas Oil Off-road Racing series at Speedworld in Surprise, Arizona. Triple digit temperatures and Geoffrey’s continuously increasing speeds where the hot topic all weekend. Geoffrey was 10th fastest after practice on Friday, qualified in 9th later that day and then finished 6th in round five and on the podium in 2nd place after round six. His results keep him in the top three in the season long points championship a position he has maintained all year. pro-2 raceAfter a terrific opening day of our GEICO Dual in the Desert, presented by General Tire, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, was back at it for a second day, as Round 6 of the 2012 championship hit the track at Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona. With temperatures again soaring into the triple digits, drivers and their equipment were pushed to the breaking point and beyond, and through the carnage, several of our series' most talented drivers stepped proudly to the top of the podium in their respective classes. After a four-week break, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, is back in action! This weekend, the series returns to Speedworld Off Road Park in the northwestern Phoenix suburb of Surprise, AZ, the only track that’s been on our series’ calendar every year since the series began. A lot of history has been made here, and with smooth jumps, a tough mogul section, and a unique mix of fast and slow turns, it’s easy to see why this track is a fan favorite. Rounds 5 and 6 of the championship will be run this weekend, but before tomorrow’s Round 5 races, there was qualifying to be sorted out today.
