There was standing room only at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park last weekend as people from all over Southern California poured in to watch the stars of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) battle on the all new short course track.  The newly constructed track was well-received by fans and racers alike with features such as a high elevation change, table-tops, tight hair pin turns and an infield mogul section. Unfortunately practice was canceled on Saturday, which meant that fan favorite Rob MacCachren and his talented crew were not able to dial in the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Power Tools / BFGoodrich Tires truck for the track and conditions.

Geoffrey Cooley left no question that he will be a contender for race wins and a championship in the Pro-Buggy Class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.  Cooley piloted the #22 Alumi Craft / Competitive Metals Pro Buggy to a 5th place finish on Saturday's Round-3 and then drove to the podium finishing 3rd for Sunday's round-4.  But Cooley's top finishes didn't come without some early event adversity.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (April 23, 2012)-The podium streak continues for Chris Brandt Racing. Both drivers were able to find a spot on the box both days of competition this past weekend at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, Calif. A brand new state of the art racing venue and clear, sunny skies with temperatures in the 90s made for ultimate racing conditions.

After a spectacular return to the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park yesterday, the drivers of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, were back for more today, as Round 4 ran rampant in southern California. It was an absolutely beautiful day, with cooler air coming in from the coast and a stiff breeze acting as nature's air conditioner, and the fans packed the grandstands to take in a great afternoon of racing. Yesterday's races were great, and if anything, today's were even better. Without worry of "tomorrow's race to come," drivers drove to their limits and beyond, and fans were treated to race after race of thrills. Some drivers continued their fine early season form today, others had their first tastes of real success, and some saw their hopes dashed when their luck ran out, so read on to find out all the ins and outs of the day's events.
