After landing on the podium in Estero Beach, Scott Douglas and the AMSOIL/Rusty's Off-Road/ Walker Evans Racing/Mickey Thompson Tires team went back to work looking to improve on the team's performance.
The planned switch to an Albins transmission for the season opener saw the team run out of time to complete the task. Fortunately, Scott Douglas and head fabricator Ted Kendall used the four week gap in the schedule before the Wheatland event to complete the build. The work took less time than expected as the team was able to book a test day at Glen Helen to get the truck set-up for Rounds 5 and 6.
"It's been a steep learning curve competing at most of the tracks for the first time," noted Scott Douglas. "Finishing on the podium in Estero Beach really gave our team a boost to keep pushing our program to the front. It was really cool to race down Baja and see the support from my Mexican fans."
"The combination of Wheatland's high speeds as well as tight corners will really test our set-up. Currently we are fifth in the points standings and the team is expecting solid results in Wheatland."
The next race for Douglas Motorsports is this weekend, June 23-24 in Wheatland, Missouri.
