Lucas Oil Camp Out and Pre-Party at Glen Helen this Weekend

Tuesday, September 18, 2018

Corona, CA (September 18, 2018) – As the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, rolls into Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California this weekend, the fans will, as always, be treated to a spectacular display of racing action. This track is steeped in off-road racing tradition, and remains one of the true Meccas of the sport, and normally, that would be enough to make any race weekend here more than thrilling. However, the folks here at Lucas Oil Off Road have decided to up the ante this weekend, and thanks in large part to series and presenting partner Mike Thompson's RV Super Stores, they have created the inaugural Lucas Oil Camp Out.

A first of its kind experience, the Camp Out will be an all-inclusive camping experience for series fans to enjoy together, in an atmosphere that has plenty to see and do for all members of any family. The heart of the operation will be centered within the Hall of Fame Walk, Motocross Museum and grassy parkway.. Throughout the day, there will be games and contests for all ages, as well as all full meals provided during the duration of the stay. Camp Out participants will also get to tour the latest and greatest RVs and Toy Haulers, participate in live music and dancing, share in a family movie night, and of course, enjoy the spectacular racing that Glen Helen Raceway always provides. If that weren't enough, Saturday evening will then be capped off with a telescope star gazing party, presented by Meade Instruments.

Fans are welcome to bring their RVs, toy haulers, camping trailers, and even tents, to share in a camping experience with their fellow off-road enthusiasts for a weekend overnight. $299 will get you one camping spot (no hook-ups, on dirt), plus two General Admission tickets to the race (Friday or Saturday night), as well as admission to all of the Camp Out activities for two people. Additional tickets can be purchased for $99 per person ages six and up (kids five and under are free), and additional vehicle tickets are set at $20 each.

There will also be an added, separate Lucas Oil Off Road Pre-Party on Saturday, which will also be presented by Mike Thompson's RV Super Stores. Starting at 2:00 pm and running until 10:00 pm, the Pre-Party will take place at Glen Helen's Hall of Fame Walk and Museum, and, like the Camp Out, will be a family friendly event. Included in the Pre-Party will be games, contest, a mouthwatering dinner, a cash bar, live music, dancing and the Telescope Start Gazing rooftop party. Tickets will be $30 for anyone aged 13 and up, $10 for kids ages 5-12, and free for all kids 4 and under.

This weekend's Round 9 and Round 10 races will mark the penultimate race weekend of the year, so it will certainly be an important and exciting weekend of racing action. Gates open to the public at 1:00 pm each day, with qualifying starting at 1:30 pm, the first race of the day at 4:30 pm, and Opening Ceremonies at 7:00 pm, just ahead of the evening's first Pro class race, Pro 2. Tickets are $30 for anyone 16 and up, $10 for kids ages 6-15, and free for all kids 5 and under. Get your tickets before this event sells out; Glen Helen always draws a packed house!

Event sponsors for the Lucas Oil Camp Out include Mike Thompson's RV Super Stores, Artificial Grass Liquidators, Honda Generators, Pioneer, iVibe Coffee and Meade Instruments.
